CT Premier players selected to represent NEZ at ODP National Championships

Congratulations to the CT Premier athletes, and all the athletes, who were selected to represent the Northeast Zone at the 2022 ODP National Championships in March. Through their talent and hard work over months and years of practice, these players have earned an opportunity to compete against the best players in the country.

The National Championship Tournament brings the top players from each zone together to compete. These athletes will have the opportunity to play against the best players in the country in their age group. This is the next step in USA Water Polo’s annual process to identify talent from throughout the country to represent the United States on the Age Group National Teams. CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK in March!

CT Premier players at ODP Eastern Regional Championships

Last weekend USA Water Polo hosted the ODP Eastern Regional Championships in Greensboro, NC. It was an exciting tournament with teams representing the Great Lakes, Midwest, Northeast and Southeast regions playing in the Boys and Girls Development, Cadet and Youth age groups. Congratulations to our CT Premier athletes, and all the players on their performances and for representing the Northeast so well!

CT Premier Players Selected to Represent NEZ at ODP Eastern Regional Championships

CONGRATULATIONS to the CT Premier players invited to represent the NEZ at the ODP Eastern Regional Championships in Greensboro, NC in January. These players participated in the NEZ ODP clinics throughout the Fall and based on their performance were selected to play against teams from the Great Lakes, Southeast and Midwest Zones. Good luck to everyone! We are so proud of all our players that participated in the clinics this Fall!

16U Boys Win 2021 Holiday Cup Gold Division, 18U Finishes 3rd

This past weekend was exciting as the 16U and 18U Boys teams traveled to Orange County, CA to compete in the Kap7 Holiday Cup. It was a great weekend of competition! The 16U team came away with the Gold Division Championship with a thrilling shootout victory over Poway Valley. Congratulations to all the players and coaches!

18U Boys win D2 Bronze at Futures Tournament

The 18U Boys team traveled to Utah in June to play in this 2021 Futures Tournament. They played their hearts out and pushed themselves through the effects of the altitude. Their final game was against 680 Drivers where they were tied 6-6 the half and played a strong second half to win the game 18-15. Congratulations to Coach Jimmy, Coach Scott and the team on bringing home CT Premier’s first trophy!

Alex Piccin named to USAWP Development National Team

Congratulations Alex on being named to the USA Water Polo Development National Team! Alex was invited to the National Team Selection Camp (along with Sophie) in June through his participation in the ODP program. He has grown up a swimmer but started playing water polo seriously in the Fall of 2020 when he joined CT Premier WPC at its inception. Alex practices with both his age group, and the high school players, so he can challenge and improve his skills. We are excited to see what you do next Alex!

Sophie Purcell named to USAWP Development National Team

Congratulations Sophie on being named to the USA Water Polo Development National Team! Sophie is a goalie and has been playing with CT Premier WPC since its inception. Sophie represented CT Premier at USA Water Polo’s Holiday Camp in December and used that experience, as well as her training at CT Premier to make her mark with the National Team Coaches. Sophie also swims and trains at Ashphalt Green in NYC during the week. Looking forward to seeing how you grow in the years ahead!

Kelly Mann chats with CT Premier Girls

Thank you to Kelly Mann for taking the time to speak with the CT Premier WPC girls in November! The small group conversation gave the girls the chance to get to know Kelly, hear about what she did to become a great player and ask her questions which ranged from her training routines to the best advice she has ever received. Kelly was a standout water polo player at Stanford, won a gold medal at the 2019 FINA Masters World Championships and also played with the NYAC Women’s team. Thank you Kelly and we look forward to hosting a camp with you soon!
