The 18U Boys team traveled to Utah in June to play in this 2021 Futures Tournament. They played their hearts out and pushed themselves through the effects of the altitude. Their final game was against 680 Drivers where they were tied 6-6 the half and played a strong second half to win the game 18-15. Congratulations to Coach Jimmy, Coach Scott and the team on bringing home CT Premier’s first trophy!
Congratulations Alex on being named to the USA Water Polo Development National Team! Alex was invited to the National Team Selection Camp (along with Sophie) in June through his participation in the ODP program. He has grown up a swimmer but started playing water polo seriously in the Fall of 2020 when he joined CT Premier WPC at its inception. Alex practices with both his age group, and the high school players, so he can challenge and improve his skills. We are excited to see what you do next Alex!
Congratulations Sophie on being named to the USA Water Polo Development National Team! Sophie is a goalie and has been playing with CT Premier WPC since its inception. Sophie represented CT Premier at USA Water Polo’s Holiday Camp in December and used that experience, as well as her training at CT Premier to make her mark with the National Team Coaches. Sophie also swims and trains at Ashphalt Green in NYC during the week. Looking forward to seeing how you grow in the years ahead!
Thank you to Kelly Mann for taking the time to speak with the CT Premier WPC girls in November! The small group conversation gave the girls the chance to get to know Kelly, hear about what she did to become a great player and ask her questions which ranged from her training routines to the best advice she has ever received. Kelly was a standout water polo player at Stanford, won a gold medal at the 2019 FINA Masters World Championships and also played with the NYAC Women’s team. Thank you Kelly and we look forward to hosting a camp with you soon!
If you are an current adult USA WP member at any level by September 14, you can vote for Scott and Chris in November to be on the next NEZ board.
